What We Treat
From low back pain and sports injuries to tendinopathy and post-surgical rehab. Pick yours below to see what’s involved, and how Kaizen treats it.
Lumbar spine
Low Back Pain & Sciatica
Your back is built to bend, lift and sit through long days, but when the load you put through it outruns what it can currently take, it flares. Most low back pain and sciatica is non-specific and recovers well, and we treat it the way NICE advises: no routine scans, no opioids, no weeks of bed rest.

Sports Injuries
Getting back to your sport means more than getting out of pain. We diagnose and rehabilitate the lot, from acute sprains and muscle or ligament strains to overuse and tissue overload, using graded loading and criteria-based return-to-play so you come back ready to perform, not just pain-free.
Sports Physiotherapy
Cervical spine and facet joints
Neck & Shoulder Pain
Long desk hours hold the neck and shoulders in one position for hours, and eventually the tissue that carries that posture runs past its capacity. Most mechanical neck pain and common shoulder problems, from rotator-cuff related pain to impingement and frozen shoulder, settle well with physiotherapy, exercise and manual therapy.
Physiotherapy
Tendons most commonly affected by overload: the Achilles
Tendinopathy
A tendon has a set amount of load it can take, and tendinopathy is what happens when you ask for more: most often at the Achilles, patellar, gluteal or rotator-cuff tendon. We find the overload behind it and rebuild the tendon's capacity with progressive loading, the treatment backed by the strongest evidence.
Sports Physiotherapy
The elbow
Hand, Wrist & Elbow Pain
Tennis and golfer's elbow, carpal tunnel, RSI, wrist sprains, post-surgical hands: upper-limb pain usually means a small structure is being loaded faster than it can take. We combine specialist hand therapy with graded loading to settle the symptoms and rebuild the capacity your work and sport demand of it.
Hand Therapy
The knee joint
Knee Pain & Injuries
Most knee pain is load-related and rarely means stopping for good, from kneecap pain and patellar tendinopathy to meniscal and ligament injuries including the ACL, and early osteoarthritis. Our founder David Thomas brings a professional-football and post-surgical background, and our team rebuilds the strength, control and confidence behind the knee, not just the symptoms.
Sports Physiotherapy
The ankle
Foot & Ankle Pain
Every running stride drives several times your body weight through the foot and ankle, so when training load outruns what the tissue can take, ankle sprains, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, bone stress and recurrent instability follow. We diagnose the load behind the pain, then rebuild calf, ankle and foot capacity step by step until running feels normal again.
Sports Physiotherapy
The hip joint
Hip & Groin Pain
Hip and groin pain comes from several different sources, from impingement (FAI) and adductor strains to gluteal tendinopathy and hip osteoarthritis, so the plan only works once the diagnosis is right. We find which tissue has been pushed past its capacity, then rebuild its strength and load tolerance step by step.
Sports Physiotherapy
The operated joint and its surrounding structures
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
Surgery repairs the structure; rehabilitation rebuilds the capacity around it, and how well you come back depends on the weeks and months that follow. We run staged, criteria-based rehab after ACL reconstruction and other knee, shoulder and hip surgery, always to your surgeon's plan and to the elite-sport standards our clinical lead brought from professional football.
Sports Physiotherapy
Lower limb: the patellofemoral joint and iliotibial band at the knee
Running & Marathon Injuries
Most running injuries are overuse, not bad luck: the mileage has outrun what your tissue can currently take, so they respond far better to a smart loading plan than to rest alone. We find what is actually driving the pain, from runner's knee to Achilles, shin or bone stress, then rebuild your running with graded loading and a clear, criteria-based return.
Running & Gait Analysis
Lower limb: the hamstring muscle group
Football Injuries
Football loads the lower limb hard, so hamstrings, ankles, knees and groins take most of the hits. Our team, led by a clinician who has worked in professional football, gets you back to the game itself, not just out of pain.
Sports Physiotherapy
The shoulder and acromioclavicular
Rugby Injuries
Rugby is a collision game, so the hits land on the shoulder and AC joint, the knee, the hamstrings and the ankle. Our team, led by a clinician who works in professional rugby, rebuilds the strength and contact tolerance to get you back on the pitch, not just out of pain.
Sports Physiotherapy
Predominantly the knee
Ski & Snowsport Injuries
The knee is the most-injured region in skiing, with ACL and MCL ligament injuries the classic problem and skier's thumb the most common upper-limb injury. Prepare the legs before you fly and much of it is avoidable, which is why our team readies skiers and snowboarders for the slopes as seriously as we rehabilitate them afterwards.
Strength & Conditioning
The lumbar spine
Golf Injuries
The lower back is the most commonly injured region in golf, and most golf injuries are overuse, driven by swing volume and movement restrictions rather than one bad shot. Our team screens how your body shares the rotation of the swing, then loads the back, hip, elbow, wrist or shoulder back to full capacity.
Performance MOT & Screening
The shoulder and rotator cuff
Martial Arts Injuries
Grappling and striking load the body in very different ways, from the shoulder, knee, neck and fingers of BJJ and MMA to the hand, wrist and ribs of boxing and Muay Thai. Our team rebuilds the strength and control your discipline demands, for a confident, criteria-based return to the mats or the ring.
Sports Physiotherapy
The Achilles tendon and calf complex
Hyrox & Functional Fitness Injuries
Hyrox mixes high-volume running with sled, carry and lifting work, so the shoulder, lower back, knee, Achilles and calf take the load, and most injuries are simply demand outrunning capacity. Our team rebuilds that capacity and manages your training so you reach the start line healthy, not just pain-free.
