"David helped me when I started to have a strong tibia pain only 5 weeks before the marathon. I genuinely thought at some point that I wasn’t going to be able to do it and I did my PB!"

"Couldn’t recommend this physio team enough! They helped me recover from a knee injury 3 weeks before the London Marathon which I thought was going to prevent me from running it! Everyone was really friendly, supportive and genuinely cared about helping me reach my goal. Special thanks to Charlie, Gus, Brad and Stef!"

"I came to Dave with an ongoing injury that I’ve been struggling with for months! He helped sort it out straight away, also giving me some exercises to help target the area to get back to full strength. I’m now back to running pain-free already and training properly — I’ll definitely be recommending Kaizen Physiotherapy to my clients!"

"Gus worked miracles to get me running a marathon after being injured 6 weeks out. He worked out the issue really quickly and provided a clear and actionable plan to deal with it. The sports massages were the best I’ve ever had too — thanks Peggy! Can’t recommend Gus and Peggy enough."

"I had such a positive experience working with Brad at Kaizen. He supported me through a meniscus tear and got me all the way back to running a half marathon and HYROX training. Everything was structured, progressive, and easy to follow, and I always felt like I was in safe hands."

Continuous improvement
in every session.

Kaizen Physiotherapy & Performance was founded in 2022 by Chartered Physiotherapists David Thomas and Augustin Hadonou, and now runs from 4 London clinics — Tottenham Court Road, Liverpool Street, Marylebone, and Wimbledon Village — plus online consultations. Every one of our physiotherapists is HCPC-registered and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and our patients rate us 5.0 out of 5 across more than 200 Google reviews.

“Kaizen” is the Japanese principle of continuous improvement — small, consistent gains that compound into lasting progress. That is the whole method: an honest assessment, hands-on treatment paired with a progressive exercise plan, and education so you understand your own body. We do not sell open-ended courses of passive treatment. Across 6 core services, 4 London clinics, and a team of 8 practitioners, the goal is your independence, not your dependence — we would rather discharge you in 6 sessions than keep you for 16.

Our team treats everyone from City professionals at a desk to runners chasing a marathon PB and athletes returning to elite sport, across our 4 London clinics and online. Founder David Thomas brings 8 years in the academy at Chelsea FC alongside current roles in professional rugby and with Team GB athletes; co-founder Gus Hadonou is an AACP-registered acupuncturist and our Reformer Pilates lead. You can self-refer and book online in under 2 minutes — no GP letter required.

Your journey,
step by step

Assessment

Your first appointment covers a detailed history and a thorough musculoskeletal examination of movement, strength, and the affected area. We discuss our findings with you and agree a working diagnosis and treatment plan you understand before you leave.

Treatment & Rehabilitation

Hands-on manual therapy combined with a progressive, tailored exercise programme — with acupuncture or Reformer Pilates added where they help. You leave with a written summary and a home-exercise plan, so progress continues between visits.

Reassess & Return to Performance

Each follow-up reassesses progress against your baseline, adjusting load and technique as you improve, and using criteria-based milestones to return you to work, sport, or daily life. Discharge happens by mutual agreement when you can manage independently.

Common
questions

Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. UK physiotherapists are first-contact practitioners, so you can self-refer and book directly through our Jane online booking page. If you are using private health insurance your provider may require a GP referral first, so check your policy. Self-funded patients never need a referral.

Where are your clinics?

We have four London clinics: Tottenham Court Road (111 Charing Cross Road, WC2H 0DT), Liverpool Street (280 Bishopsgate, EC2M 4RB), and Marylebone (1 Orchard Street, W1H 6HJ) — all inside UNTIL — plus Wimbledon Village inside Bar None Fitness. We also offer online consultations.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring a list of any medication you take, any consultant letters or scan results, and comfortable clothing that allows movement and access to the area needing treatment. Arrive a few minutes early for your first visit so we can complete a short intake before your assessment.

What happens during my first appointment?

Your initial visit includes detailed history-taking and a thorough musculoskeletal assessment of movement, strength, and the affected area, after which we discuss our findings and agree a working diagnosis and plan with you. Follow-up sessions then continue treatment and progress your rehabilitation, reassessing against your baseline at each visit as you improve.

Do you offer online physiotherapy consultations?

Yes. Alongside our four London clinics we offer online consultations for assessment, advice, and tailored exercise programmes — useful if you are travelling, between clinics, or prefer to be seen remotely. Book an online slot the same way you would an in-person appointment, through our Jane page.

Do you accept private medical insurance?

We work with major UK private medical insurers, including Bupa. Cover and any pre-authorisation requirements vary by insurer and policy, so please check your plan and mention your insurer when booking so we can confirm the details and what your policy covers before your first appointment.
